Sylvan pantheon
|
The Sylvan Pantheon refers to a friendly and cooperative group of powers who work together to maintain the integrity of the sylvan realms, predominantly the Plane of Faerie, where only the faerie folk know how to travel. Here, other creatures are rare visitors; some few stumble in, losing their sense of direction and time, whilst a very select few may occasionally be guided by a faerie creature. It is otherwise known as the Seelie Court, with the Unseelie Court in opposition. Sylvan Deities of the Seelie CourtMany artists and bards, both fey and other, have striven to capture the beauty of the Seelie Court. Most have gone mad; none have truly succeeded. Pure manifestations of nature and beauty, the members of the Seelie Court view themselves as the pinnacle of perfection. The Inner Circle members have many qualities in common. The gods are all strongly inclined toward chaotic alignment, with a majority tending toward good rather than neutral alignment. They have a strong affiliation with the Seldarine gods, especially with Erevan Ilesere, the trickster-god of the elves. They all revere Titania as queen, and will readily act as she instructs them, despite their chaotic nature. They have a strong sense of fellowship, again despite their chaotic alignment, and they feel very protective about each other. Disputes between them are rare and swiftly resolved. Members of the Inner Circle are all curious and playful creatures, but they are also very conscious of their small size, and are usually conflicted between curiosity and caution, and place a strong emphasis on self-protection, especially in using magic. The Outer Circle of the Seelie Court comprises those deities who do not pay a primary homage to Titania or whose concerns compel them to spend much time away from the Court.
• Queen Titania, leader of the pantheon.
• Caoimhin, the small and shy patron god of the killmoulis. (not selectable) Sylvan Deities of the Unseelie CourtThe Unseelie Court was an organization of evil fey creatures that surround the Queen of Air and Darkness. After a millennia of indiscriminate breeding, the physical appearance of the Unseelie Court mirrors the macabre. Twisted columns, trees forced into unnatural growth by royal gardeners, are scattered haphazardly through the hall. Curtains of shadows hide blood-soaked alcoves. Those who belonged to the Queen of Air and Darkness's Unseelie Court were known as unseelie fey, and were generally evil-aligned and represented or celebrated the darker and more macabre aspects of the natural world. They were generally more dangerous and untrustworthy in their dealings with visitors, however they were known to be more welcoming of non-fey into their Court. • Queen of Air and Darkness, wicked and cruel, seeks the corruption of all natural life. BGTSCC NotesWhile they may be worshipped, revered, followed, or celebrated as a deity might, the Sylvan Pantheon grants no divine spellcasting, per DM interpretation on the topic. The exception to this rule is the Queen of Air and Darkness, whom grants her boons to the elven she's corrupted. BGTSCC is rooted in the 2nd and 3rd editions of Dungeons and Dragons; prior to many of the changes 4e introduced per the fey and the expand thereof. Reference to the Feywild and any seasonal courts (summer/winter/spring/fall) is not relevant to earlier editions and not supported on this server.
