Spider (domain)
Clerics who take the Spider domain believe that spiders are the weavers of fate and dreams. Every spider web is unique, the clerics say, and they often observe their intricacies in order to divine future events. Many Spider clerics take up the practice of weaving themselves, and they find spiritual enlightenment in the making of beautiful clothes and rugs. Spider clerics preach patience and deliberation in all things, as the wise spider does not rush out to be devoured but instead waits for her prey to come to her. Most Spider clerics are women, in emulation of their eight-legged patrons and the Spider Queen Lolth, and men are often sacrificed and devoured in darker Spider ceremonies.
This domain grants a cleric the following additions:
Domain power
Granted power: The cleric's turn undead ability functions against spiders.
Granted Power: Spell Focus (Divination): Spiders are the weavers of fate, and as a result many Spider clerics become skilled seers.
Granted Power: Immunity to Poison: Like many clerics of poisonous animals, Spider domain rituals often involve being willingly bitten by the eight-legged creatures they venerate. Through this experience, and the blessings of their gods, Spider clerics develop an immunity to spider venom.
