Language: Assassins Cant

Assassins Cant

Region(s): Everywhere
Race(s): None specifically

Assassins Cant is the language employed by professional assassins. It is usually learned 'in practice' while tagging along on jobs with a more experienced assassin. Some assassins also train junior pupils via more traditional education before progressing to the job in practice. The language is spread widely over Faerun as a result of gradual adoption of the cant by bands and orders of assassins seeing its benefits. Not all assassins know of it and some regions, most notably the far east Unther, Mulhorand, Kozakura and so on have their own versions. Eastern assassins may nonetheless learn the language by performing 'jobs' elsewhere, with different colleagues.
