Every creature caught in the Blackfire feels its energy waning, suffering 2d4 points of (non-stacking) STR damage.
In addition, creatures are actually consumed by the flames, taking 5d6 Negative Energy damage + 1d6/2 CL (up to 18d6). If undead are engulfed in the spell, the energy twists, and they are scorched with fire.
