While BGTSCC runs on 2 or more servers there are additional systems in place to make sure people can still interact with each other even when playing on different servers.

Cross server scry

The default nwn2 player list and player chat will only list the people who are on the same server as you. However the scry will display all players regardless of which server they are on (unless, of course, they have decided to hide themselves).

Players on the same server as you will be listed first in alphabetical order. Thereafter players from other servers are listed.

If another server crashes it can take a couple of minutes before the players from that server are cleared from the scry.

Cross server chat

Messages across servers will show up as server messages. If you really want to you can also use these command to communicate with people on the same server.

If you mistype a name the server will warn you. However since there's a few seconds delay in the communication between servers it cannot know with 100% certainty if the player you tried to reach exists or not, and will attempt to send the message regardless.

Character

To send a message to another character use either of the following:

>crosstell "character name" message

>ct "character name" message

Example:

>ct "Mat Cauthon" Beautiful lace!

Player

To send a message to another player use either of the following:

>crosstellplayer "player name" message

>ctp "player name" message

Example:

>ctp "WotFan" I need a hero.

Reply

To reply to the last person who messaged you, write:

>ctr message

Example:

>ctr Almost dead yesterday, maybe dead tomorrow, but alive, gloriously alive, today.

Resend

To send again to the last person you sent a message to, write:

>ctre message

Shout (DM only)

To send to everyone on both servers, write:

>ctshout message

Alternate chat type

Normally cross server chat messages appear as a message sent from the server. If you prefer you can also receive messages as if they were sent by your own character (but never the actual sending character since they aren't avaliable for sending messages on that server). To try the alternate method write:

>cttogglechattype
