Damaran is a regional language of Northeast Faerûn, and the official language of the kingdom of Damara. It is also sometimes spoken among dwarves, elves, goblins, half-elves, orcs, half-orcs, planetouched, taers, and volodni.

Speakers of the Damaran tongue normally use the dwarven Dethek alphabet.

Damaran is a sublanguage of Chard which in turn is a sublanguage of Ulou. Ulou is believed to be a precursor language to Netherese. Damaran is in the same family language as Easting.

Common Damaran human surnames include: Bersk, Chernin, Dotsk, Kulenov, Marsk, Nemetsk, Shemov, and Starag.
