Description

Align weapon makes a weapon good, evil, lawful, or chaotic, as you choose. A weapon that is aligned can bypass the damage reduction of certain creatures, usually outsiders of the opposite alignment. This spell has no effect on a weapon that already has an alignment, such as a holy sword.

You can't cast this spell on a natural weapon, such as an unarmed strike. It affects a melee weapon touched or fifty projectiles (all of which must be in contact with each other at the time of casting)

When you make a weapon good, evil, lawful, or chaotic, align weapon is a good, evil, lawful, or chaotic spell, respectively.

Notes

As of 2022/11/07, Align Weapon can only be cast on items within your inventory. To buff a party member, you must trade the weapon over to yourself, enchant it and trade it back. This spell works on ranged weapons.

As of 2022/11/07, Align Weapon is not mechanically restricted in its alignment. A Good aligned cleric can align a weapon against evil. In P&P, this would be an Evil descriptor spell.
