It is power, warmth, truth, and authority; it is unerring and unchanging. It symbolizes natural cycles - night turns to day, winter turns to summer, and death turns to rebirth. In many creation stories, such as the story of the sisters Selûne and Shar, it was the creation of the sun that lead to the rise of life on Toril. Sun rituals commonly take place during the dawn and evening in high, open places. Sun gods are typically thanked for their warmth and given offerings to ensure that they will continue to rise the next day.
