[[Character]]s are flat-footed until their first turns in the [[initiative]] cycle. A flat-footed [[creature]] loses its [[Dexterity]], [[Tumble]] and [[Dodge]] bonuses to [[Armor Class]] (as well as penalties) and cannot make [[attacks of opportunity]].
