Gathering

Hoihe-Runa: Creates gathering page

On BGTSCC, it is possible to interact with gatherable resource nodes to obtain a variety of materials. Presently (2024/03/08), it is possible to gather water from wells, milk from cows, fruits, wheat, herbs and barks.

Interaction
These nodes can be recognized by holding down the "Inspection" key (set under Game Options -> Keymapping -> Misc.), causing them to be highlighted in blue. Upon interaction, the appropriate skill is rolled against a set DC and one of four outcomes may happen:
* Failure - Your roll failed to match or exceed the target DC. This seems to count against your per-reset cap.
* Success - Your roll had matched or exceeded the target DC by some. You normally gather one batch of the target resource with one batch of experience.
* Bountiful Harvest - You rolled a natural 20, thus obtaining two batches while still only getting XP for one. Your per-reset quota for that resource types is only decremented by only ONE. This overrides Exceptional Harvest.
* Exceptional Harvest - You rolled at least twice the DC (minimum 30). This results in two batches of resource AND two batches of experience. This also decrements your per-reset quota by TWO.

Per-Reset Quota Per Player
There is a cap on how many times per reset you can interact with a resource type. This is tracked separately for each resource type, and each resource has its own unique limit. Some rare herbs can only be obtained once or twice, while water can be drawn nearly a dozen times!

As of presently (2024/03/08), the two servers (Baldurs Gate South & Baldurs Gate North) have separate quotas.

Although due to the global cooldown, other players do not affect your per-reset cooldown. The per-reset quota has a unique message indicating you cannot gather from ANY nodes after reaching it.

Global Cooldown
When a player interacts with a specific gathering node, it enters a global cooldown for ALL players, preventing repeat harvests. You must wait some time for the node to be usable again. You may gather from another node freely, however, provided your quota is not yet exceeded.

As with the quota, this too has a unique message encouraging you to go and try elsewhere.

Storage
Within certain shops, such as the Sorcerous Sundries in the Heaps District, Baldur's Gate, you can purchase special items to store your many, many herbs conveniently. These are called herb bags (not to be confused with herb pouches, which are used for crafting), and may be used on yourself with the appropriate ability (through right click menu) to either gather a SPECIFIC item in your inventory, or all loose items. You can also target containers for gathering all appropriate herbs.

It is conversely possible to dump the herb bags' contents indiscriminately into your inventory or some container.

Finally, you can set a herb bag as "ACTIVE" for purposes of crafting without needing to dump it into your inventory. Do note, in such cases only one herb bag is viewed for crafting purposes. It is advisable to dump all your herb bags into a safe container then gather tham back into your bags to try and match herb types when you got multiple.

Skills
As of presently (2024/03/08), Survival and Profession (Agriculture) appear to be the only skills used for gathering, with survival being much more widely used. Lore (Nature) can offer synergy bonuses to survival (as described in the Skill Synergies feat), but it is not used directly.

Description
Align weapon makes a weapon good, evil, lawful, or chaotic, as you choose. A weapon that is aligned can bypass the damage reduction of certain creatures, usually outsiders of the opposite alignment. This spell has no effect on a weapon that already has an alignment, such as a holy sword.

You can't cast this spell on a natural weapon, such as an unarmed strike. It affects a melee weapon touched or fifty projectiles (all of which must be in contact with each other at the time of casting)

When you make a weapon good, evil, lawful, or chaotic, align weapon is a good, evil, lawful, or chaotic spell, respectively.

Notes
Mechanically, this spell gives you and EB+2 vs Alignment, Damage Bonus +1 vs Alginment (expressed as magical damage that multiplies on critical hits and stacks with Divine Favour, Bardic inspiration)

While description says it cannot work on NATURAL WEAPONS such as Unarmed strike, it DOES work if you cast it on your gloves.

As of 2022/11/07, Align Weapon can only be cast on items within your inventory. To buff a party member, you must trade the weapon over to yourself, enchant it and trade it back. This spell works on ranged weapons by enchanting ammunition. As a consequence, it does NOT work on infinite ammo weapons.

As of 2022/11/07, Align Weapon is not mechanically restricted in its alignment. A Good aligned cleric can align a weapon against evil. In P&P, this would be an Evil descriptor spell.

Notes
As of 2022/11/07, Align Weapon can only be cast on items within your inventory. To buff a party member, you must trade the weapon over to yourself, enchant it and trade it back. This spell works on ranged weapons.
As of 2022/11/07, Align Weapon is not mechanically restricted in its alignment. A Good aligned cleric can align a weapon against evil. In P&P, this would be an Evil descriptor spell.
Description
You create 1d4 illusory images of yourself, plus one image per 3 caster levels (maximum 8 images total). Enemies cannot distinguish between the real you and your doubles, and will randomly choose a target from amongst you and your doubles. Images have an AC of 10 + your Dex modifier, and a successful attack against an image causes it to disappear.

Notes
*This spell uses EffectAbsorbDamage, yet appears to work differently than expected. See the talk page for details.
*Only one casting of this spell can affect the caster at once.
*Since effects are reloaded (ignoring how they were applied) when the caster changes area/a save is loaded, the balls spinning around them determining how many images are left all merge together. This could be fixed by having additional spell effect files specifically starting the balls always X apart, and the script changed to keep this in mind.
*It is a useful spell to have in a Wand, Scroll or Rod since it doesn't use the casters ability modifier at all, and is solely based on the caster level.
*EffectAbsorbDamage is used separately for each image, essentially creating 1-8 separate effects on the target. Images are automatically spaced out. The ghostly effect is also applied with each image; when casted, there are 1 to 8, which means that spell is really "over" after it is removed correctly.
*Concealment checks are done prior to AC checks, so an attacker will have to bypass concealment before the test against mirror image is made. This spell is of great use for a caster that has a high AC.

Custom content notes
Empirical Speculation
Server-side testing has shown the following on how mirror image works:
Natural 20s, if they exceed the target's AC, hit.
Natural 20s, if they do NOT exceed the target's AC, hit a mirror image
Furthermore, the weapon that's being used matters. With both exceeding enemy AC substantially,
A weapon with crit range 20 (i.e: unarmed) will miss on a roll of 19 (unknown if soaked, or true miss)
A weapon with crit range 15-20 (i.e: keen rapier) will hit on a roll of 16, piercing past mirror images. It is uncertain if confirming threat is required.
Creating a wand costs gold pieces based on the relative power of the spell. Wands containing first level spells can cost a few thousand gold pieces while those made with higher level spells can cost tens of thousands. Warlock invocations cannot be used in the creation of wands. Newly crafted wands have 50 charges.
|Use=Cast a spell on a bone wand in your inventory.}}

Gameplay Notes
Currently, the classes that can use this feat are: Wizard, Sorcerer, Cleric, Druid, Paladin, and Ranger. Spell-like abilities CANNOT be used to craft wands. Although PnP rules state that the Blackguard and Assassin have real spell books, NWN2 treats their spells as spell-like abilities. As such, these PrC classes CANNOT utilize this feat for their 'spells'.

Despite description over at Innate level, craft wand uses the domain spell level of Knowledge (domain) when making True Seeing wands, despite technically being forbidden by its innate level.

Cost: The cost to craft a wand in NWN2 is equal to Caster Level * Spell Level * 750 gp. Level 0 spells cost half as much as a Level 1 spell. However, in the formula, Caster Level is NOT the character's caster level but the resulting caster level of the wand to be created. For example, a 5th level Wizard that uses a scroll to craft a wand of Flame Arrow crafts a wand that has a Caster Level of 18, not 5. Thus, the wand is FAR more powerful than it should be. Conversly, a 20th level Cleric that crafts a wand of Cure Critical Wounds crafts one that only has a caster level of 7 (instead of 20).

The innate level of a spell is what is considered its spell level for the purposes of feats such as craft wand and brew potion. This is especially important where different casting classes receive the same spell at different spell levels.

It also is the level that monster special abilities use, such as spells known by a Balor or a Dragon, who do not have any classes in a normal spellcasting class.

Gameplay Notes
Apparently, True Seeing can be applied to wands despite having an Innate level of 4.

The reason for such is uncertain, as other spells that get reduced by domains in spell level cannot be wanded.
